Cascadia Foodshed Funding Project Application
The Cascadia Foodshed Funding Project (CFFP) seeks to combine different forms of capital – e.g. grants, equity, loans, credit enhancements – to invest in food-related social enterprises in five Pacific Northwest counties. Each capital deployment is expected to be in the range of $25,000 to $250,000 for this first round. The project will accept applications until February 28, 2014, and deploy funds on a rolling basis throughout the year.
The ideal business or non-profit candidates for investment will make improvements to one or more of the core impact areas through their operations, while providing a positive financial return to investors. Examples of enterprises that might fit the CFFP investment criteria include mid-scale sustainable poultry production, farm-to-school direct vegetable sales, a local cheese cooperative, or a processing facility for local fruit and vegetables. Please review our F.A.Q. for further detail about eligibility and application procedures.
All applications will be received through the Slow Money NW Gust portal (select “Food and Beverage” as your industry).
Your application should include at a minimum:
Your business plan in enough detail to show how this investment will help you succeed
Financials, past and projected, that match your business plan and funding need
Your funding need, and how it will help accomplish your business goals
A statement of benefit (500 words maximum) describing how your enterprise can help improve one or more of the following impact areas: Health, Social Equity, Family Wage Job Creation and Preservation, Rural Community Resilience, and Ability to Influence Policy.
